Born 22nd September 1980 in Rio Grande Do Norte, Brazil, Fernanda Tavares began her career in modeling at the age of 9. Soon after she won the 'Elite Look of the Year contest' at 13, she moved to Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil at the invitation of agents to pursue modeling.
Fernanda has appeared in the covers of international editions of the magazinessuch as L'Officiel, Vogue, Marie Claire, Capricho, Compolitan, Elle, and Biba. She has posed for editorials of magazines including Marie Claire (US, Italy and Brazil), Elle (France, Brazil and UK), Vogue (US, France, Germany, and Italy), L'Officiel (France), Cosmopolitan (US and Brazil), Capricho (Brazil), Harper's Bazaar (US), and Allure (US).
Fernanda Tavares was one of the models at the 2000 fashion show in Cannes along with fellow Brazilian models Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima and Gisele Bundchen and other models such as Carmen Kass and Angela Lindvall. Fernanda was the model for Victoria's Secret at this fashion show. She also modeled for the Swimsuit Edition catalogue of Victoria's Secret in 2000.
