Bar Refaeli who was born on 4th June 1985 to a family in Hod HaSharon, Israel, started her modeling career at the age of 8 months appearing in commercials. At the age of 15, she was featured in promotional campaigns for the fashion brands like Castro, Pilpel, Milki etc. Refaeli won the title "Model of The Year for 2000 and 2001" in a beauty contest. At this time, she was selected as the home model of Renuar fashion network and as a result she appeared in their summer 2002 and winter 2003 catalogues.
In 2007, Refaeli became the first Israeli model to appear in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue featuring for the rock band Aerosmith. She was chosen as the cover model of the 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
