Girls taking off their clothes to support Putin

Girls urged to strip to support PutinIn a bid to support Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in a presidential vote, an online campaign has been launched urging young women to support him by taking off their clothes.

Called 'Putin's Army', it features a video of a blonde student called Diana who struts along Moscow's streets in high heels and a black suit before scrawling "I will tear my clothes off for Putin" on a white top in red lipstick and starting to undo her clothes, reports the Telegraph.

Inviting girls to strip off for Putin for the chance of winning an iPad2, the campaign comes ahead of the March 2012 presidential vote. Putin was president between 2000-2008 before handing the reins to his protege Dmitry Medvedev.

Widely seen as Russia's key decision-maker, Putin may return to the Kremlin next year.

"The goal: For Putin to be president!" said a statement on its page on social networking site vkontakte.ru/armiaputina.

It is unclear who orchestrated the campaign, which was posted on the blog of parliamentarian Kirill Shchitov, from Putin's ruling United Russia party.

Sushmita Sen talks of sex, men, marriage relationships and a wide range of subjects

By M. Ismeth

Wild is not the word you would associate with Sushmita Sen today. Untamed she was, when she tamed international fame and time itself as an 18 year old. Today the woman (now 34) is equally passionate, but like expected, very much in control.

She is raw still, yet refined. This aggressor in her is still prowling, but so obvious is her tenderness too. She wears her vulnerability with aplomb and makes it like a virtue, while her confidence and self assurance can be intimidating, even off putting. There's an exciting foreplay of contrasts , and as eroticism lies in not revealing the layers of mystery.

Sush in her mild form is hot enough, but she can only get hotter.

Sushmita Sen in a wild encounter with Shashank Samant talks of sex, men, marriage relationships and a wide range of subjects.

She says "today if you take a poll asking men if they want to be with women who are 30 and virgin , they will run away."  Is sex over -rated  in India.? "There was a time when it definitely was, not anymore. It was something you did not talk about, and from the face of it, people from good families probably never did it. But today, media primarily focuses its attention on sex, so much that its inevitable that it would become a part of the social structure. It is not like it did not exist before, we are the land of Kama sutra. Today, people are more comfortable talking about it."

Asked do we have different standards for men and women in our society when it comes to sex?
" I don't think we have different standards for sex. Sex is universal. Neither one of them is going to enjoy it without some input from the other. Sex is another expression for a human being. As far as sexual awareness is concerned, its equal if not more on a female.

Having a baby for example. I look at sex as a very biased thing. I don't think its something you should be ashamed of or having discussion on.

However, like everything good thing in life, there are some things which are part of yourself, that you do not discuss in public. Which most men and women don't.

On what she wears, Sush says, "I am 30 and enjoying every bit of it.I have not changed a thing that I don't like wearing and the only reason I don't wear it is because I do not like it on myself. I reveal when I feel like it. Today I do, tomorrow, I might not. Its about freedom of choice, not age."

"All power to people who understand that ultimately, clothes are going on your body. If you are  comfortable with it, wear it. I cannot judge about the way people dress. What disturbs me however, after you have worn it, you are constantly talking, pulling, figuring yourself out. That's disturbing" she says.
Being an actress, and with its professional hazards does it make you vulnerable and susceptible to character judgements from people?

"They always are pre-requisites for an actress. You are going to be vulnerable to judgements of a far greater variety than a hero does. We actresses get to face the music.

But I have not done things to provoke people, to impress them, to be nice or to sound like a rebel. Sometimes it does not agree with people, sometimes they say "Ah an icon is born". I will always be susceptible to both. The faster I acknowledge the better it is for me. Society lays out rules."

"I respect them. Just don't ask me to follow them blindly. I don't have time to change the social structure. I will lead my life .If that means I will have to be alone, I am happy being alone." Sush is now 34.

Last Blockbuster Harry Potter film

By Mike Collett-White

LONDON, Nov 8 (Reuters) - The end is nigh for the blockbuster Harry Potter film franchise, with the premiere of the seventh and penultimate movie on Thursday and its young stars looking to life beyond the fictitious world of wizardry.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" is the first of two big budget pictures to be based on the last of J.K.

Rowling's hugely popular books about the boy wizard and his battle against evil set at Hogwarts school.

The film series has been a major money spinner for Hollywood studio Warner Bros and its parent company Time Warner Inc, with the first six films amassing $5.4 billion in ticket sales around the world.

Despite the risk of "Potter fatigue" and the fact that Part 1 of Deathly Hallows will not appear in 3-D as originally planned, the early signs are that Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 will maintain the impressive box office run.

"Towering over all of these (November) movies ... is the beginning of the end of the Harry Potter series, which will undoubtedly generate massive sales," said Ray Subers of cinema tracking website www.boxofficemojo.com.

"With over 57 percent of polled Box Office Mojo readers voting it as their top choice to see in November, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 rides a tidal wave of anticipation," Subers added in a preview to November releases.

Fandango, the U.S. ticketing service, said earlier this month that 61 percent of its daily ticket sales were for the Harry Potter movie, even though it does not hit theatres in the United States and Britain until Nov. 19. Part 2 is due for release in July, 2011, and is expected to come out in 2-D and 3-D.

Sonal Chauhaan talking about media speculation

By M.Ismeth

She's on cloud nine and flies high after her first release. Understandably so, because "Jannat" was a box office hit. It is also the first time she worked with the Bhatts

Her interview Rahul Nanda was also her first. That's a lot for the wannashine.
She hails from a conservative Rajput family and is the daughter of a Police Inspector from Uttar Pradesh. Since no one in her family was connected to the glamour world, she did not tell her parents about the offers for print and ads that started coming her way when she was still in school.

Her mother reluctantly agreed, warning her not to let ideas of a glamorous career enter her head. But fate decreed of course. Sonal smiles at the memories . "I would tell my parents how eager I was to join the movies. But they were adamant, I could'nt do them for a living. So I saw them down and got up only once they agreed. I am sure they never dreamt I would get this far."

Her debut film "Jannat" (The first of her three film deal with Vishesh films). Is one of the three hits todate. The Bhatts, the producers of the film, are ecstatic . They wanted to cast her in " Awarapan" and "Showbiz" earlier but she refused and she is glad that she made the choice then. Both the movies tanked at the box office.

Post "Jannat" more people have been talking about Emraan Hashmi (her co-star in the film) than Sonal Chauhan. She begs to differ. "It's not as if people are not talking about me at all. I have got really good feedback. People constantly come up to me and tell me how much they liked me in the film. Since that was my first film, any positive feedback is great."

Apart from being in the news fro "Jannat", she  also hit the headlines for her alleged affair with Sahil Zaroo of the Rahul Mahajan drug fiasco fame. It is even reported that he manhandled her at the Mumbai airport, after she ignored him. After a long pause her voice dips as she says , "It was an unfortunate incident. But it could have happened to anyone. I don't want to give it any more importance by talking about it. Its been blown out of proportion already', she added.

To lighten the mood she was asked for her take on skin show and item numbers in the movies. She parries, " I have always maintained that a film can't be sold on the basis of a hot scene in the film. I wear short-skirts and shorts in real life and am very comfortable in them. If my character was supposed to be sleazy , I would play in that way. I am an actor, I should be versatile."

There's nothing she doesn't like about the film industry. "I think  speculation in the media is justified. When someone enters this profession, they are fully aware of things that come with the territory. As actors, we want attention. Any actor who says he does not like attention is lying", she says.
Finally she gets curious about the Filmfare Awards. She wants to know if she has to register for them. "Do you think I have a chance in the next Filmfare Awards?    She asks. "Only time will tell."

Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone

After much ado on who will be sharing the screen space with Aamir Khan in the third installment of the blockbuster Dhoom series, it is said that the role will be played by none other than the pretty and talented Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka will probably play the love-interest of Aamir in Dhoom 3, says a close circle of Yash Raj Films.

The source added that Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were the strong contenders for the role and Dhoom 3 has lots of action sequences for both Aamir as well as Priyanka, and since the actress has done many action films earlier, she fitted the bill.

Moreover, Priyanka's good rapport with Yash Raj Films had availed an excellent opportunity, says the source. An official confirmation is yet to come from Yash Raj Films. The whereabouts of shooting of the movie is not revealed.

Amrita Rao says she doesn’t want to get stuck with women-oriented roles

By M.Ismeth

Even if you go that way people will say  "Oh, she's hot but she can't act."

Amrita in an interview with Hamida Parkar says she doesn't want to get stuck with women-oriented roles at this point. "Well known heroes don't want to be a part of such films because they don't have substantial roles in them."

Such films will have newcomers as my co-stars and that would not be a wise move for me now," she reasons. Also out there are those roles that require her to look and play older than her age . "It could be a fabulous role but if I am cast opposite a very senior hero, someone I have grown up watching. I wouldn't want to do it. I think I should stick to characters of my age. I am  not saying I wouldn't be able to pull off mature roles but I had better play a college kid right now because this is the time to do that " she points out.

Another no-no she says is, dropping her clothes for the camera. "Who says exposing is the only way of surviving in the industry?" She asks defiantly. "Even if you got that way people will say, Oh, yeah, she's hot, but she can't act."

In "Ishq Vishk", I was even called a behenji. But in Farah's film, you will see me wearing a lot of trendy and western stuff. In "Deewar", I have a very sensuous song with Ahshay Khanna. I have to seduce him but I am still this confused, innocent girl who is doing it to draw his attention. But even in such situations one can look innocent instead of screaming out to the, "look, I'm hot, look I'm hot."

Ask her how old she is and she bursts into a fit of giggles. Then mock flutters those long eye lashes and jokes, "I'm just sweet 16" Aha, but we succeed in finding out her real age. Just for the record ,Amrita doesn't look a day older  than 18 though she is in her twenties. She's quite the wide- eyed adolescent who suddenly found her path in life, is making the most of it and dutifully learning the ropes of the film industry at jet speed.

Shreya Saran says " I am never satisfied "

By M.Ismeth

Shreya charms you  with her natural bonhomie. The girl is full of joie de vivre that its infectious. Perhaps the stupendous success of the film Sivaji has got a lot to do with it, says  Purnima Lamchhane in conversation with her.

Tell her that and the elfin siren exults, "Yes, it feels so great. The film has earned me a lot of respect. It feels so good to get this appreciation." And a small taste of that frenzied appreciation came her way on the day of the premiere. "That was the first time my father came for a preview of my film and it was such a special moment for me when he hugged me and said, " I am proud of what you have done with yourself.". And I am so excited that the film was dubbed in Hindi and being released in Mumbai.

She continues excitedly, "When I signed the film, I knew it was big. With the super combination of Rajni Sir (Rajnikanth) A.R.Rahman and Shankar (Director) everything in the film was larger than life. But I never knew that it would be so big a phenomenon and make such an impact."

And she credits her effortless performance to her director Shankar. "Working with him was like going back to acting school. He is a very demanding director but at the same time he gives a lot of freedom to his actors to perform and interpret the scenes in their own way. One thing he insists on is rehearsals. He teaches you so much. You also learn discipline. He has a passion for doing something unusual. He can visualize what he wants and turn his dreams into reality."

"Cinema is changing now. You can do substantial roles even when you re 30,"she states. "Look at Sarika she has made a great comeback in Paarzania. Infact, everyone is becoming more professional with heroes doing just one or two films at a time.It is a change for the good" she opines. For the uninitiated, Shreya played the lead opposite Aftab Shivdasani in a Hindi film titled "Shukriya" and   a couple of  others but they failed to click and she swooped looking for greener pastures down south. And though her re-entry into hindi cinema with "Awaarapan" opposite Emraan Hashmi has defnitely grabbed eyrballs, the length of her role was woefully small.

"I am selfish. I am never satisfied. I am always seeking bigger roles, bigger set-ups. I don't want to reach a point where I say, " this is my best." It is hard for me to be satisfied with myself. But on the other hand, I also realize that you have to be happy with what you get and I am happy with my character in Awaarapan."
"It was a very special role for me. People have appreciated my role in the film. Also Awaarapan gave me the pleasure of working with a fine director."

Rani Mukherjee - 40 questions interview

"I'm a simple person who wants to lead a simple life in the complex world of cinema. I knew this is difficult because life can get pretty complicated here. But I'm not waiting anxiously for something great or dramatic to happen to me. It's the little, little things that make me smile. I'd be happy even if someone handed me a glass of water."

This what Rani Mukherjee  told Praveena  Bharadwaj in a 40 questions interview. The above was in response to the question how would  you describe yourself?

Here are some of the questions and answers.

Q: What's the motto you live by?
'Live life to the fullest. Never hurt anyone and concentrate on creating love and laughter.'

Q: Does commitment scare you?
"Not at all . Because the level of your commitment reflects your involvement and confidence. You can't be a coward and run away. You have to be committed to whatever you do in life.'

Q: Can you tell us three unknown facts about yourself?
"I'm very lazy and laid back, have a terrible temper and can bake amazing cakes.'

Q: How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?
'I think I was 11 or 12. Please don't ask me for the name of the person because he is married now.

Q: Which is the most beautiful part of your body?
'My heart. Those close to me feel I have a heart of gold.'

Q: When and where were you most embarrassed?
I'm embarrassed whenever I see myself on screen. Because all those emotions are forced, not real. They make me squirm.'

Q: If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?
' My height. I'd give anything for a few inches more'.

Q: What's the one thing  in your life you'd like to get rid of?
'Fake people, they make me feel sick.'

Q: What's the cutest thing about you?
'Me, myself, the whole of me. I think I'm cute'.

Q: Are you a better actress on-screen or off-screen?
On screen of course. Acting is only for the screen, not for real life. In fact, I find it difficult to act off-screen'

Q: What's the worst thing about being an actress?
'That you have to act constantly, in reel and real life. To the extent that you start asking yourself, am I acting or am I being my normal self.'

Q: What are the three best things about being an actress?
' Name, fame and money'.

Q: What is the weirdest thing you've put in your mouth?
Artificial blood during action scenes. Sometimes it's coloured water and sometimes cough syrup. Uuuughhh.

Q: Which lyrics truly mean something to you?
The title song of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai- Tum Paas Aaye, Yun Muskuraaye, Tum Ne NA Jaane Kya sapne dikkaye……

Q: Who do you think is the sexiest man in the industry?
'Shah Rukh Khan. My all time favourite is Mr Amitabh Bachchan, but right now it's SRK'.

Q: If your dream man and you were struck on a lonely island, what would you do?
'I'd call the dream unitwallahs and ask them to shoot a song on that very location- for our eyes only.'

Q: Do you believe in God?
'Oh yes. He is the Almighty. He is everywhere. He keeps an eye on us constantly. I fear Him.'

Q: What is your idea of a perfect, romantic day?
Spending time with the person I love. We could be in Switzerland or anywhere else for that matter.'

Hot Bipasha Basu Interview with Subhash K.Jha

By M.Ismeth
No matter how heroine oriented my roles are, everyone just sees the glamour. After all that, all people see is that I look hot and sexy, that isn't all I want. Besides in none of my films am I there for glamour value.

I find it difficult to please myself. I like everything around me to be perfect. I feel very demoralized when my co-artists just do their work mechanically and wait for pack-up. And when I see a talented senior being indifferent to his work, I'm saddened, as told by Bipasha Basu to Subhash K.Jha in an interview.

You seem to have very strong views and equally strong likes and dislikes?
Yes, and I make them clear. Beating around the bush is as pointless as running around trees. Being upfront suits me. And I've never been let down by my beliefs. If I didn't do a role, I didn't have regrets about someone else doing it. I never try to fit in.

And what are we trying to fit into anyway?
"There are no roles about an actress should do or shouldn't do? So there's no question of my being a misfit. I have to thank the film industry for never letting me feel like one."

On the personal front, you've had some serious help problems, haven't you?
Yeah, first came my health problems and then my help problems . My maid who's been with me for four years, tried to siphon off my money. My spot boy stole my diamond ring too. I trust very easily and my trust was completely broken. It's time for me to wise up.

Also, now that I've moved into a bigger home it's a bit of a pain for me. It's too big and too lonely for one person. I spend half my time just maintaining it.

But John's around to help. Are the two of you planning marriage?
Yes we are thinking of marriage, but not so soon. Once I marry I'll put an end to m y career. It's always one thing at a time for me.

An undying ambition is to open a restaurant where I can give personal attention to every guest. I want to connect with people, make them feel at home. (The marriage never took place)

Are you gregarious by nature?
Very. I look a little snooty but I'm the absolute opposite. It's just at parties I keep to myself.I think such gatherings are occasions for fake talk- "Oh you've lost weight, Oh you're looking so nice! I'm sorry, I can't do all this.

Did you learn a lot from Mr Bachchan?
What can you learn about acting. You just need to grasp your character and try to do what the director wants. But yes, I learnt the value of sincerity and professionalism from him.You have to be as down to earth as Mr.Bachchan to get somewhere in life.
