And the award for the Best Actor for Modeling goes to....
Yes, that is the best I can think about the rationality behind the best actor award in 52nd FairOne Filmfare Awards 2007. Hrithik Roshan for Dhoom 2!!! C'mon, the folks (the so called "jury") at Filmfare Awards must have been high on some low quality stuff, otherwise how else can they overlook Aamir's performance in Rang De Basanti, Sanjay Dutt's Munnabhai act or Ajay Devgan's Omkara. If they call walking in slow motion, posing as if modeling all the time, jumping from cliffs, dancing and making faces as acting, then I quit right here. No point arguing over that.
But for those of you, whom Filmfare Awards matter, here is the list. Must say there are some well deserving ones too. For eg. Rang De Basanti as the Best Film, Kajol as the Best Actress for Fanaa, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra as the Best Director for Rang De Basanti, Abhishek Bachchan as Best Supporting Actor for KANK, Konkana Sen Sharma as Best Supporting Actress for Omkara, Arshad Warsi as Best Actor in a Comic Role for Lage Raho Munnabhai and Saif Ali Khan as Best Actor in a Negative Role for Omkara among others.
Good sense prevailed in awarding A R Rahman for Best Music for RDB. Had they given to Pritam (whose Gangster was much better) for Dhoom 2, I would have been convinced that Yash Raj owns Filmfare Awards! Doesn't make sense? Then, can someone explain how Chand Sifarish (Fanaa) wins over others as best lyrics and Atif Aslam's Tere Bin loses to Chand Sifarish (yet again) as Best Playback Singer? Hope I made myself clear.
Anyway, it was a pleasure watching some good performances on stage, most notably Sridevi's. We'll try to upload video as soon as we get it. Meanwhile, here is the list. Surprisingly, I had 75% (9 out of 12) predictions correct, in case you did not notice!
